Accomplishment in individuals is really the difference in being helpful, solving problems and offering proactive assistance. I noticed that some people say, “I can do that” or offer ways to make things better in general, when it would be just as easy to do whatever is being suggested. Case in point: editing an article or a web page, rather than replying, “You need to add more bullet points to that.” The better response is to simply provide the bullet points. Then the requester can understand what it is the reviewer is seeing. Had the original requester known what bullet points to add, you can bet he/she would have added them.

Marketing is really solving problems. First identifying the problem to be solved, then identifying who needs to have this problem solved and then addressing how the product/service can solve the problem. A good marketing person is one who is a problem solver; an inquisitive sort who likes to make the world a better place to live.

Look for marketing professionals who actively work at making things better all the time, and you will find a winning marketer.

And on a blogging note, why do bloggers blog?

MediaPost Publications - Pew: Bloggers Hungry For Online News

77% say to express themselves creatively, 76% said they blogged to document personal experiences, 59% did so to stay in touch with friends and family. Only 15 percent said they blogged in hopes of making money.
