To quote Dr. Thomas Fuller a British physician who lived from 1654 to 1734

"All things are difficult before they are easy."  I saw a graphical representation once of a continuum of learning that has stayed in my mind. It showed how information first viewed is not understandable, and as the information transforms into knowledge, it just becomes part of one’s knowledge base, and is totally understandable. In face, it is really hard to remember what was so hard to learn, once it is learned.

Growing businesses, learning what to measure and how to target markets is a part of a learning process. Segmenting activities on which to focus efforts, all takes lots of planning and time. Setting strategy to achieve goals is one of the most important components of creating a marketing effort. And writing it down is a crucial element.

So many small businesses do not take that first step when creating collateral, web sites or even expensive direct mail campaigns. And, things are always difficult at first, and, if one learns how to do them, then they become easy.
